PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass that can be kept under high-temperature conditions, is characterized by a high resistance to corrosion caused by water condensed from exhaust gas and a low thermal expansion coefficient and is thus suitable for use in environments subject to exhaust gas exposure.SOLUTION: The glass shows ≤0.1% mass reduction when immersed at 80°C for 520 h in water condensed from exhaust gas, a thermal expansion coefficient of ≤50×10/°C and a transition point of ≥650°C. The glass includes, calculated in terms of oxides, 25-65 wt.% SiO, 5-30 wt.% AlO, 5-25 wt.% alkaline earth oxides, 5-25 wt.% ZrOand 0-20 wt.% rare earth oxides. The glass is suitably used for coating, bonding, etc. of members used in environments subject to exhaust gas exposure. |
