PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe column which is constituted to be suitable for weight savings and economic efficiency, while a short steel pipe forming a panel zone has a straight cross section.SOLUTION: The steel pipe column is constituted by welding connection 16 between a long steel pipe and the short steel pipe forming the panel zone. The plurality of long steel pipes 11A, 11B and 11C and the plurality of short steel pipes 12A and 12B are arranged in a vertically alternate manner; and the at least one long steel pipe 11B is formed like a tapered pipe having an upper portion with a small dimension. The long steel pipe having the upper portion with the small dimension is incorporated to enable the reduction of its weight; the straight pipe-like short steel pipe positioned on the long steel pipe, and the long steel pipe can also have small dimensions; and the whole steel pipe column can be constituted to be suitable for the weight savings and the economic efficiency. Since the short steel pipe forming the panel zone has the straight cross section, the connection of the beam materials can be stably performed by simplifying a connecting structure. |
