PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of welding defects in welded H-section steel in manufacturing welded H-section steel formed by joining a web and flanges by welding through a high-frequency resistance welding method.SOLUTION: The welded H-section steel having a pre-determined length specified in the standard is manufactured by heating the abutting parts of a long web material and long flange materials, combining them into a cross-sectional H-shape, press-contacting respective abutting parts and joining the web and flanges through high-frequency resistance welding method by which the respective web and flange abutting parts are pressure-welded. Each of the sectional areas in four beads in the welded part of the web material and flange materials is continuously measured, and the welding conditions for the non-welded part are adjusted such that the relationship between the respective sectional area (mm) of the four beads and the thickness (mm) of the web satisfies the formula: cross-sectional area of the bead ≥0.2×the thickness of the web+0.7. |
