PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator which surely prevents warm air flowing into a cooling chamber through a water discharge pipe for guiding defrosting water to a machine chamber, and which reduces electric power consumption.SOLUTION: The water discharge pipe 16 for guiding defrosting water melt by a defrosting water 14 and received in a dew receiving tub 15 of a cooler chamber 31 to a dew receiving tub 19 in the machine chamber 18 is extended downward, is opened within the machine chamber 18, and includes a slantly cut opening 16C positioned at a lower end and a rubber cap 60 for covering the opening 16C. The rubber cap 60 is arranged on a surface on the side opposite to the surface opposing to the opening 16C at the lower end of the water discharge pipe 16 to receive wind generated along with operation of a cooling fan 22. When defrosting water from the dew receiving tub is dropped down to the water discharge pipe 16, the slant opening 16C of the water discharge pipe 16 is opened, and when the cooling fan 22 is operated, the opening 16C is sealed. |
