PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and playback device which receives data in a plurality of formats such as one-segment and full-segment, and properly records and reproduces the data.SOLUTION: The recording playback device is provided with: a receiving means for receiving first data and second data; a generation means for detecting a receiving state of the first data received by the receiving means to generate timing data showing switching timing of the first data and the second data; a recording means for recording the first data, the second data, and the timing data generated by the generation means; a first playback part which plays back the first data recorded in the recording means; a second playback part which plays back the second data recorded in the recording means; and a control means for controlling playback by the first playback part and the second playback part using the timing data recorded in the recording means.
