PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wasteful power consumption due to leaked light, scattered light etc., which occur in conventional backlight units, irrespective of direct or edge lighting, in which all the light from a light emitting body is not effectively used as illumination light.SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element such as a photo-diode, a photo-transistor, or what is generally called a solar panel is provided on a surface that is irradiated with leaked light or scattered light other than the illuminated surface. Thereby, ineffective light is collected to be effectively used as power. |
