PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playback apparatus which achieves power saving according to a decoding amount.SOLUTION: On the basis of remaining power of a battery 110 and information on video images obtained from video encoded data, the number of decimated frames, which shows the number of encoded frames not to be decoded, of the predetermined number of encoded frames included in the video encoded data, is calculated by a power saving information calculation section 160. A playback control section 170 causes a decoder 180 to carry out decode processing for decoding the other encoded frames than the encoded frames as many as the number of decimated frames, of the predetermined number of encoded frames. |
