The measuring device (1) has a measuring unit (3), which is connected with a rod-shaped measuring sensor (4). The rod-shaped measuring sensor is partially inserted into an examining bone section (2) for intra-operative determination of the bone quality in a drill hole (5). The diameter (D, D') of the rod-shaped measuring sensor is adjustable, particularly expandable with a measuring force (F) by the measuring unit for impingement of the bone section. An independent claim is also included for a measuring method for intra-operative determination of bone quality of a bone portion.
