Disclosed is a resin composition for sealing materials containing 0.1-150 parts by weight of a curing agent (B) and 1-500 parts by weight of boehmite particles (C) per 100 parts by weight of a compound (A) having a polymerizable cyclic ether. This resin composition for sealing materials is excellent in water vapor permeation resistance. Also disclosed is a sealing material for electroluminescent devices using such a resin composition.
