PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus, which can obtain a good image quality by controlling an image forming condition, considering the effect of selective development and the effect by difference in image shape.SOLUTION: The method includes forming a plurality of different patch images; calculating a toner charge quantity of each patch image; determine a relation between the toner charge quantity and the toner amount; calculating, based on this relation, a toner charge quantity per unit area of a solid image from a toner quantity per unit area of the solid image; setting a latent image forming condition based on the toner charge quantity of the solid image; calculating a total charge quantity of the solid image; setting a transfer current value or transfer voltage value which can transfer the solid image to a transfer object material from the calculated total charge quantity and perform transfer of a toner image to the transfer object material. |
