PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell, which has an operation mode for generating power in a state that one end of an anode side flow passage is closed, and uniformizes a fuel gas flow in a plane.SOLUTION: The fuel cell includes an electrolyte membrane, a pair of electrodes on the electrolyte membrane, a gas separator, a gas diffusion layer on an anode, a first flow passage forming layer on the gas diffusion layer, and a second flow passage forming layer between the first flow passage forming layer and the gas separator. An in-plane direction pressure loss ΔPof the gas diffusion layer, an in-plane direction pressure loss ΔPand a thickness direction pressure loss ΔPof the first flow passage forming layer, and an in-plane direction pressure loss ΔPof the second flow passage forming layer satisfy following expressions (1) and (2). The fuel gas is supplied from one end of the flow passage of the fuel gas to generate power in the state that another end of the fuel gas flow passage is closed. The expression (1) is ΔP>ΔP>ΔP, and the expression (2) is ΔP≥ΔP. |
