PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable video viewing technology with the use of a video display apparatus and video viewing eyeglasses.SOLUTION: The stereoscopic video display apparatus for displaying stereoscopic videos including a video for a left eye and a video for a right eye to be viewed using stereoscopic video viewing eyeglasses, includes: a display section for switching the video for the left eye and the video for the right eye of the stereoscopic videos timewise and displaying them; a synchronization signal generation section for generating three kinds of external synchronization signals including a first synchronization signal for notifying the start of viewing a frame constituting the video for the left eye, a second synchronization signal for notifying the start of viewing a frame constituting the video for the right eye, and a third synchronization signal for notifying the end of viewing the frame constituting the video for the left eye and the end of viewing the frame constituting the video for the right eye in synchronism with the stereoscopic videos; and a synchronization signal transmission section for transmitting the three kinds of external synchronization signals by waveforms different from each other. |
