PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample liquid dilution method having high reproducibility, and a liquid chromatograph apparatus that uses the method.SOLUTION: The sample liquid dilution method uses a sample liquid dilution apparatus, equipped with a vessel for a sample liquid; a vessel for an operating liquid; a vessel for a dilute liquid; a syringe pump and a needle for sucking/discharging these liquids or air; and a dilution vessel for pooling a mixed liquid of the sample liquid and the dilute liquid, wherein a channel from the needle to the syringe pump is filled with the operating liquid, by using the syringe pump, and then a small amount of air, a prescribed amount of the dilute liquid, a small amount of air and a prescribed amount of the sample liquid are suctioned, in the order from the needle by using the syringe pump, and the dilute liquid, the air and the sample liquid are discharged to the dilution vessel; and the total amount or a portion of the mixed liquid of the sample liquid and the diluted liquid is suck/discharged. The dilution method uses the dilution vessel, wherein a liquid level in the operation of pooling the sample liquid, and the dilute liquid discharged in the dilution vessel is equal to or less than three times the inner diameter of the dilution vessel. |
