PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that achieves double speed drive, reduces power consumption without preventing improvement in image quality.SOLUTION: The display device for displaying a video includes: a video data acquisition part which receives video data; a movement detection part which detects a moving amount of a plurality of frame data groups constituting the received video data; a speed-doubling part for inserting interpolation frame data between the frame data to change a frame rate; a display panel which displays the video by using the frame data; and a switching control part which, when the detected moving amount is a threshold showing a predetermined moving amount or more, drives the display panel at double-speed by using the frame data group subjected to the double-speed processing and, when the detected movement amount is the threshold or less, does not drive the display panel at double-speed. |
