METHOD FOR SOLIDIFICATION TREATMENT OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for volume reduction and stable solidification treatment of spent ion-exchange resin that has adsorbed radionuclides.SOLUTION: The spent ion exchange resin that has adsorbed radionuclides; alkali earth metal compounds and a cation adsorption solidification assistant are put into pre-treatment equipment 2 from a used ion exchange resin storage tank 1; an alkali earth metal compound storage tank 3 and a cation adsorbing solidification assisting storage tank 4, respectively and are stirred and mixed by a stirrer 12 to make a slurry which is dehydrated by a dehydrator 5. The free water generated through dehydration is returned to the used ion exchange resin storage tank; meanwhile the spent ion exchange resin that is dehydrated, the cement from a cement hopper 7 and the water from an additive water storage tank are placed in a solidification system 6, are stirred and mixed by a stirrer 11 and are pplaced in a solidification container 9 to make cemented waste.
