METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLAKE-LIKE GLASS MATERIAL

Disclosed is a flake-like glass material, the both surfaces of which are extremely smooth and flat. Such a flake-like glass material has not been able to be produced by conventional techniques. In order to make the both surfaces of a flake-like glass material extremely smooth and flat, the flake-like glass material is produced in a non-contact manner without bringing glass into contact with the surface of a molding/processing device such as a roller or a substrate, as done in the conventional production methods. Since the flake-like glass material, wherein the both surfaces are extremely smooth and flat, has high smoothness in the both surfaces, the flake-like glass material can achieve higher brilliance when compared with conventional flake-like glass materials.
