摘要 <p>Disclosed is a splicing structure, by which influence of wavelength or mode of light propagating in the optical waveguide can be suppressed. The end surface of the optical waveguide coated with a film and the end surface of other optical waveguide are fusion-spliced without using an adhesive. In the fusion-splicing structure, for the purpose of splicing the two optical waveguides, one end surface of the optical waveguide (A) is coated with the optical functional film, and the one end surface of the optical waveguide (A), said end surface being coated with the optical functional film, and one end surface of the optical waveguide (B) face each other and are fusion-spliced. The optical waveguide element using such fusion-splicing structure is also provided.</p>
