PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which improves safety for human eyes by reducing glare caused by light emitted by a light emitting means, and to capture an image of a subject person in an appropriate state.SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus 1 including a light emitting means 2 for emitting a predetermined quantity of light toward a subject M during the image capturing of the subject M includes a light emission controlling means 8 for controlling a quantity of light of the light emitting means 2. Based on a detection result from a light detecting means 9 which detects light from the subject M, the light emission controlling means 8 gradually increases the quantity of light until the quantity of light reaches the predetermined quantity of light. |
