PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selecting a smell, capable of obtaining high performance on a product to be targeted.SOLUTION: The method for selecting a smell includes classifying a high value group of memory evocation value and a low value group for a plurality of memory evocations obtained from a plurality of persons to be tested, and indexing one or greater evaluation values selected from the following (A), (B), and (C), and selecting (step S5) a smell to given in a product: (A) a ratio of the number of the persons to be tested to the number of the persons to be tested of high memory evocation group for each candidate; (B) a ratio of the sum of person's evocations in the high memory evocation group to the sum of person's evocations in the low memory evocation for each candidate; and (C) a ratio of the sum of the person's evocations in the high memory evocation group to the sum of evocations of the persons to be tested for each candidate. |
