PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor including a filler in its surface protection layer being the uppermost surface layer and capable of reducing initial residual potential to form image at high speed, preventing the image from being deteriorated due to image blurring, preventing residual potential from increasing, and forming high quality image stably and continuously irrespective of its repeated use for a long period of time.SOLUTION: In this electrophotographic photoreceptor, its surface protection layer includes the filler, an electric charge transportation material, and a compound expressed by formula (1) (wherein, Rand Rmay be the same or different and denote either of alkyl group which may have a substituent and an aryl group which may have a substituent, at least either of Rand Ris an aryl group which may have a substituent, Rand Rmay be mutually bonded to form a heterocycle which may include nitrogen atom and be further substituted by substituent, and Ar denotes an arylene group which may have a substituent) or the like. A photosensitive layer contains the electric charge transportation material, which has smaller oxidation potential than that of the electric charge transportation material in the surface protection layer and is a distyryl derivative having a specific structure. The surface protection layer is formed of a surface protection layer coating liquid containing cyclopentanone and tetrahydrofuran. |
