PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable liquid crystal compound that has a region that exhibits a liquid crystal phase over a wide temperature range, shows excellent compatibility with other polymerizable liquid crystal compounds, has good solubility in an organic solvent and can be polymerized in air by heat or light.SOLUTION: The polymerizable compound is represented by formula (1) wherein Aand Aare each independently a cyclic group such as 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-phenylene or the like; Zto Zare each independently a bonding group such as a single bond, -O- or the like; m is an integer of 1 to 5; Qand/or Qare each independently -O(CHO)(CHO)- or -O(CHO)(CHO)- in which n1 and n2 are each independently an integer of 0 to 5 and the sum of n1 and n2 is 2 to 5; one of Qand Qmay be alkylene; and Pand Pare each independently a polymerizable group represented by any one of formula (2-1) to formula (2-3) in which Rs are each independently hydrogen, halogen or 1-5C alkyl. |
