PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which surely prevents generation of stray lights due to reflected light (returning light) which is reflected on reflecting objects that reflect a light beam, in a process where an object to be scanned is irradiated with the light beam from a rotating polygon mirror, without sacrificing optical performance, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the optical scanner.SOLUTION: The optical scanner 1 (1a-1e) scans the light beam L, which advances from a light source 71 generating the light beam toward a radiation direction G in the main scanning direction X by a rotating polygon mirror 74, and images the light beam L, scanned in the main scanning direction X by the rotating polygon mirror 74 on a body to be scanned 3 with an imaging optical system 80. The optical scanner 1 includes an optical member 100, which passes the light beam L advancing in the radiating direction G and shields the reflected light (returning light) which is produced by the light beam L that advances in the radiating direction G, is reflected on the reflecting objects 3, 75, 77 which reflect the light beam L and returns to the rotating polygon mirror 74. |
