PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical deflector in which the painted layer of the dynamic pressure face of a rotor except the painted edge part is formed into a thin layer having a necessary thickness, and which has a dynamic pressure bearing excellent in machinability, rigidity and wearing resistance.SOLUTION: The optical deflector has a dynamic pressure bearing including: a fixed radial bearing; a thrust bearing provided at least at one end of the radial bearing; and a rotor fixed to a rotary unit having a polygon mirror, and provided freely turnably around the radial bearing. In the dynamic pressure bearing, a painted layer is formed on the dynamic pressure face facing the radial bearing of the rotor, and a step the film thickness of which is thinner than that of the region of the dynamic pressure face, in which the dynamic pressure is generated, is provided in a predetermined part of the painted film. |
