PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update a target value on control in switching between all-cylinder operation and reduced-cylinder operation to be suitable for an internal combustion engine to appropriately suppress a switching shock, in a control device for a variable cylinder internal combustion engine in which the all-cylinder operation and the reduced-cylinder operation can be switched.SOLUTION: The control device for a variable-cylinder internal combustion engine includes an air volume control means controlling an air volume flowing into a cylinder 16 so that an air volume ratio as a ratio between a volume of air flowing into one operating cylinder 16 before the switching and a volume of air flowing into one operating cylinder 16 after the switching becomes a target air volume ratio when switching between the all-cylinder operation and the reduced-cylinder operation from one operation to another. The air volume control means includes an updating means updating the target air volume ratio to suppress torque fluctuation, based on difference between torque before the switching and torque after the switching. |
