PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect a mastication movement by distinguishing detection waveforms detected when masticating and speaking and to precisely recognize the number of times of mastication even when having a meal while talking.SOLUTION: A device for recognizing mastication condition includes: a detection part 15 which is inserted in an external auditory canal and detects an amount of deformation of the external auditory canal; a detected waveform acquisition part 121 for time serially acquiring an amount of deformation detected by the detection part 15 and acquiring the detected waveform to be time serial data of the amount of deformation; an allowed amount of deformation storage part 122 for storing an allowed amount of deformation with respect to an amount of peak deformation of a mountain part of the detected waveform; an allowed interval storage part 123 for storing allowed intervals with respect to intervals at which a mountain part of the detected waveform appears; and a mastication movement detection part 124 for recognizing a continuing mountain part whose peak amount of deformation is within an allowed amount of deformation and whose intervals of appearance are within the allowed interval and counting the number of mountain parts. |
