PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic train control device and a train control method reducing the time for transition to a normal operation even if the radio function of a ground device or an on-vehicle devices fails.SOLUTION: This automatic train control device includes a ground device 7 having a calculation part 9 for calculating a target stop position and on-vehicle devices 11, 21 which receive a target stop position signal transmitted from the ground device 7, calculate a speed control pattern 16, and control a train speed. Vehicle pick-ups 12, 22 for transmitting the train identification information sent out of the on-vehicle devices 11, 21 are installed in trains A, B, respectively. Ground pick-ups 19, 29 having a receiving function for receiving the train identification information sent out from the vehicle pick-ups 12, 22, respectively, are installed on a route. The ground device 7 includes the train identification information received by the ground pick-ups 19, 29 and an on-train block control part 10 which controls a train B on-train block 17 and a train A on-train block 27 corresponding to the ground pick-ups 19, 29, respectively. |
