The method involves transmitting an instantaneous position of a hidden obstacle (13) i.e. motor vehicle, by an external installation unit. The instantaneous position is indicated to a driver of the vehicle. The obstacle is encrusted by an analog contact display unit in a vision field (14) of the driver. Information of the obstacle is transmitted to a receiving installation unit through a wireless local area network (W-LAN), Global System for Mobile communications (GSM), or universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS)by a transmission installation unit. An independent claim is also included for a device for assisting driving of a vehicle.
