PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface protective film for an optical film, which allows visual inspection of the optical film having minute irregularity such as a prism sheet, in a state of sticking the surface protective film and is excellent in adhesion reliability; and to provide the optical film with the surface protective film.SOLUTION: The surface protective film 1 has an adhesive layer 12 at least on one side of a base material layer 10, wherein the adhesive layer 12 is formed of an adhesive mainly containing a rubber base polymer. After the adhesive layer 12 is stuck onto the prism sheet 14, pressing is carried out thereon with 11 g/cmpressure under a 50°C atmosphere for one day. At that time, an intrusion ratio of the prism sheet to the adhesive layer thickness is 45% or smaller and difference between Raand Ra: (Ra-Ra) is 0.45 to 0.90 μm, wherein Radenotes arithmetic average roughness of a base material layer surface opposite to an adhesive layer side in a measuring range of 5 mm×5 mm and Radenotes arithmetic average roughness of the base material layer surface opposite to the adhesive layer side in a measuring range of 0.25 mm×0.25 mm. |
