PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of visibility concerning a liquid crystal device and electronic equipment.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device (1) includes: a reflection liquid crystal panel (100) provided with a liquid crystal layer (50) sandwiched between a first substrate (10) and a second substrate (20) and a reflection layer (80) provided on the first substrate and reflecting light incident on the liquid crystal layer from the side of the second substrate to the side of the second substrate; a light diffusing layer (200) provided to face the second substrate and diffusing light incident from an incident angle included in a first incident angle region, and not diffusing or hardly diffusing light incident from an incident angle included in a second incident angle region; and the illumination panel (500) provided on a side opposite to the liquid crystal layer of the second substrate, having optical transparency, and including a point light source (530) emitting light for the liquid crystal layer.
