PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code reader for notifying a user about decoded code data, using a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An illumination device 18 irradiates a photographing area with a light. A two-dimensional reading module 17 photographs the photographing area and acquires a photographed image. A control device 11 decodes code data included in the photographed image and calculates the area of the code data in the photographing area. A monochromatic liquid crystal driver 16 controls the irradiation light transmitting state of a monochromatic liquid crystal panel 15 so as to cause the illumination device 18 to irradiate only the area which is calculated by the control device 11 with light. |
