PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light extraction efficiency of an organic electroluminescent element.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element 1 includes a substrate 2, a first electrode 3, an organic layer 4, and a second electrode 5 laminated in this order. The organic layer 4 includes a light-emitting layer 43, and the light-emitting layer 43 is produced by mixing a light-emitting material 44 with porous particles 45. The porous particles 45 have a low refractive index. This reduces the refractive index of the light-emitting layer 43, so that a critical angle at each interface in the middle of an optical path from the light-emitting layer 43 to the outside can be made large. Therefore, light lost by total reflection at those interfaces can be reduced, and the light extraction efficiency can be improved. |
