摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterioration detecting device which detects beforehand an increase in the impedance of a charging cable including a connector from a charger to a battery, issues an alarm, and suspends charging to protect a human body and prevent the burning of equipment upon finding abnormal conditions.SOLUTION: In a charging device, a charging cable 3 led out of a quick charger 1 is connected to a charging cable 4 connected to a battery unit 2 via a connector 5. The charging device includes a first voltmeter 6 which measures the voltage of the charging cable 3 led out of the quick charger 1 and a second voltmeter 7 which measures the voltage of a terminal of the charging cable 4 connected to the battery 2. A first threshold is set for a voltage difference greater than a normal value, the voltage difference being given by subtracting a voltage measured by the second voltmeter 7 from a voltage measured by the first voltmeter 6, and a second threshold is set for a voltage difference that is greater than the first threshold and that may lead to the burning of the charging cables and the connector. The charging device is provided with a means which issues a minor alarm while continuing charging when the measured voltage difference is greater than the first threshold and is smaller than the second threshold, and suspends the charging when the voltage difference is equal to or greater than the second threshold.
