PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To locate anywhere but around a vortex chamber a contactless stirrer installed for melting aluminum or other feedstock in a stirring vortex of molten metal in a melting furnace.SOLUTION: The vortex chamber of the melting furnace for aluminum or other scrap is doughnut-shaped, and the stirrer is, for example, removably arranged in the center of the doughnut. More specifically, in a melting furnace having a melting chamber 1 for storing molten metal and a vortex chamber 2 for melting feedstock in a vortex, where the vortex chamber is arranged on a side of the melting chamber and molten metal moves from the vortex chamber to the melting chamber via a communication opening 3, a refractory hollow insulated case 7 is removably arranged in a center portion of the vortex chamber 2, whose internal space is circular in plan view, such that the vortex chamber and the insulated case form a stirring space 24 doughnut-shaped in plan view, and a contactless stirrer 8 is housed in the insulated case. |
