A method of reducing a vasodilatory response comprising administering to an individual in need of such treatment an effective amount of a guanylate cyclase pathway inhibitor selected from the group consisting of methylene blue, ODQ, LY83583 and a protein kinase G inhibitor or an H2O2 reducing agent selected from the group consisting of Aspergillus niger catalase and hydroxyl scavengers, hydroquinone and mannitol.
