PURPOSE: A motor torque control method is provided to reduce motor energy consumption and to improve a braking capability. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether a vehicle is stopped during a regenerative braking process(S12). It is determined whether a brake pedal is operated when the vehicle is stopped(S13). When the brake pedal is operated, it is determined whether a preset reference time elapses by counting time. When the reference time elapses, a motor torque is controlled in order to output a torque for a reduced creep compared to an originally set motor torque.
