PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stripping tool for electric wires, capable of stably and reliably stripping a finned electric wire such as snow accretion resistant wire, and also an ordinary non-finned wire.SOLUTION: The stripping tool includes a cutting tool holder 6 formed into a cylindrical shape by coupling a pair of substantially half cylindrical cutting tool holder members 12a, 12b so that a finned electric wire 18 is inserted thereinto and an operation shaft 1 for rotationally operating the cutting tool holder 6 to a predetermined direction through a power transmission means 3. A cutting blade 15 is attached to one cutting tool holder member 12a so that it is protruded inward. An abutment plate 17 having an arc-shaped inner circumferential surface is attached to the inner surface of the other cutting tool holder member 12b in correspondence with the cutting blade 15 so that it is protruded inward. The abutment plate 17 is inclined in the direction of the axial line of the cutting tool holder member 12b and its inside diameter is so set that it is equal to the outside diameter of the coated part of the finned electric wire 18 and its inward protrusion length L is so set that it is equal to the height H of the fin. |
