PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly constrain an occupant by an air bag even when the occupant in a front passenger seat is in a near state with respect to an instrument panel at the time of a frontal collision of a vehicle.SOLUTION: When the air bag 12 is expanded toward a side of the occupant 24 in the front passenger seat on receival of supply of gas at the time of a frontal collision of a vehicle, at an initial stage of the expansion, an expansion pressure of the air bag 12 is distributed to vehicle width direction both sides by an inner bag 52 and applied to side air bag doors 16. By this, the side air bag doors 16 are expanded precedent to a center air bag door 14, and initial swelling openings 26C are formed in both sides in the vehicle width direction. The air bag 12 starts to swell in the side of the occupant 24 from a module case 26 through the swelling openings 26C. In such manner, in the initial stage of expansion of the air bag 12, expansion of an area corresponding to the center air bag door 14 is suppressed. |
