PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the processing time and power consumption of peak detection in path search, and cell search for a peak detector and a radio receiver.SOLUTION: A correlation calculation unit 5-1 calculates a correlation value between a predetermined signal pattern and an input signal and stores the correlation value in a memory unit 5-3. A peak detection unit 5-4 detects the peaks of a second predetermined number from among the correlation values of a first predetermined number stored in the memory unit 5-3. Meanwhile, a comparison unit 1-1 successively inputs correlation values of the first predetermined number sent from the correlation calculating unit 5-1 to the memory unit 5-3, compares whether they are larger or smaller than the maximum value of the correlation values which are previously input, and outputs a larger correlation value as the maximum value. A maximum value holding unit 1-2 stores the maximum value of the correlation values output from the comparison unit 1-1; and after the completion of storing of the correlation values of the first predetermined number in the memory unit 5-3, the maximum value of the stored correlation values is output to the peak detecting unit 5-4 as a peak from among the peaks of the second predetermined number. |
