The roof (8) has a front roof element (13) and a rear roof element (14) that are movable relative to each other. The roof elements are provided in a rear region of a retaining space (10) of a structure (2) of a passenger car (1), in an opening position of the roof. The rear roof element runs approximately horizontal in the opening position and is upwardly aligned with an inner side. An outer side of the rear roof element defines the shape of a cover (12) working according to the type of a rear cover. The front roof element with an outer side extends upwardly above the rear roof element.
