PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To makes it possible for an image processing device performing image processing in units of lines to decode both irreversible compression encoded data and reversible compression encoded data.SOLUTION: Image data of RGB format is converted into image data of YCbCr format, and subjected to reduction processing for thinning the pixels of the image data of the Cb component and the image data of the Cr component at a constant rate, and irreversible conversion processing consisting of expansion processing for interpolating the pixels which are thinned in the reduction processing with the pixels which are not thinned in the reduction processing and quantization processing for reducing the number of bits configuring the image data of one component. For the image data of the Y component, the Cb component and the Cr component, the pixels to be processed are selected one by one in a raster-scanning sequence, and irreversible compression data is generated by performing reversible compression processing combining predictive encoding and variable length encoding. |
