PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform start-up and to achieve an oxidation reaction while maintaining high production ability by sufficiently suppressing the temperature of a hot spot part in a method for producing (meth)acrylic acid by vapor phase catalytic oxidation of (meth)acrolein with molecular oxygen in the presence of a solid oxidation catalyst by a fixed bed tubular type reactor.SOLUTION: In the method for producing (meth)acrylic acid by circulating a (meth)acrolein-containing raw material gas to the catalytic layer of a fixed bed tubular type reactor packed with a solid oxidation catalyst, an inert gas is temporarily supplied to the catalytic layer so as to increase the amount of the raw material gas by ≥1% when the difference between the temperature of a heating medium bath in the catalytic layer and the temperature of the catalytic layer exceeds a target temperature. |
