PURPOSE: A one-component thermosetting resin composition for a protective film of a color filter is provided to ensure excellent transparency, heat resistance, alkali resistance, and preservation stability. CONSTITUTION: A one-component thermosetting resin composition for a protective film of a color filter includes an acrylic resin, a thermosetting compound, and a solvent. The acrylic resin includes a copolymer consisting of (a) a compound containing chemical formula 1a or 1b and (b) a compound containing a carboxyl group and an unsaturated bond. The thermosetting compound comprises an epoxy resin satisfying belows: (i) an epoxy equivalent is 2000 g/eq or less; (ii) 50 mass % or more of the thermosetting compound consists of bisphenol A novolac type epoxy resin; and (iii) a curing aid selected form carboxylic acid, carboxylic anhydride, and polycarboxylic acid anhydride does not contained.
