PURPOSE: A broadcast receiver, and a method for providing positioning information are provided to offer a specific place information relating a broadcasting program through Bluetooth communication. CONSTITUTION: A tuner unit(201) receives broadcast signal. A demodulation unit(202) demodulates the broadcast signal. An EPG(Electronic Program Guide) detection unit(205) detects EPG information from decoded data signal. A GPS parser unit(206) parses the location information corresponding to one or more place related to each broadcasting program from EPG information. A Bluetooth module(210) transmits positional information data to external Bluetooth device.
