A parking device for an automatic transmission is provided to distribute an impact applied on a return of a sprag by inserting bumps into bump grooves of a rear extension. A cam of a parking rod assembly is provided into a parking support(30), such that a sprag(20) is lifted up. When the cam is withdrawn, the sprag is returned into an upper portion of the parking support by a recovery force of a return spring(50). Bumps(31,32) are formed on the parking support, such that the parking support is not rotated by a returning force of the sprag. The parking support is fixed on a rear extension(10) by the bumps, which are formed at both ends of the parking support. A rotation of the parking support in a derailment direction from a parking gear is prevented by a force from the sprag.
