PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and safely perform Internet facsimile communication. SOLUTION: A network system is composed of terminals 1 of digital compound machines connected to a public telephone line network and the Internet and performs Internet facsimile communication. Each of the terminals 1 comprises a means which uses a public key encryption system to transmit/receive electronic mail. A transmitting-side terminal 1 comprises a means which originally creates a public key 7, encodes the public key 7 into a QR code 8 and transmits the QR code. A receiving-side terminal 1 comprises a means which receives the QR code 8 resulting from encoding the public key 7 and decodes the QR code into the public key 7.
