PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily view an intended program even when a media start-up description is used in multiple broadcasting areas. SOLUTION: The terminal having a broadcast receiving function stores a channel list for associating either a service ID or a network ID of a broadcast station receivable at least in a present area with a physical channel. The terminal interprets the media start-up description including information for discriminating at least a medium and a channel to be started input by a certain means and reproduction start date and time information, and executes the description. In starting a broadcast receiving section based on the media start-up description, the terminal refers to the channel list, and specifies the physical channel to be selected based on the service ID (service_id), the physical channel information (p_channel) and an affiliation ID (affiliation_id) which could be included in the media start-up description.
