A method and a system for recommending words with key arrangement information are provided to recommend the words similar to the word received from a user and the frequent words by considering the key arrangement information, and recommend the similar words by modifying an LD(Levenstein Distance) algorithm according to a neighboring distance in key arrangement. A comparing component(720) compares characters of the first string with the characters of the second string sequentially among a plurality of words. A setting component(730) sets a comparison value between the first and the second strings by reflecting a neighboring distance of key arrangement of the characters of the first and the second strings according to the comparison result. A calculating component(740) calculates similarity between the first and the second strings according to the set comparison value. An input component(750) receives the word from a user. A recommending component(760) determines the number of recommended words according to the comparison value and the calculated similarity, and recommends the determined number of words similar to the word received from the user among the words stored in a database(710).
