PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, image processing method, and program by which a file can be divided in a file size corresponding to a simple instruction by a user when transmitting the file. SOLUTION: Scan processing is performed on a plurality of document images (1), a single page over all the scan images to which scan processing has been applied, is divided for the unit of pages designated from the user (2) and made into a multi-file for the unit of the predetermined pages (3), and the multi-file is distributed to a distribution destination (4).
