The rammer tool (20) has a lower insert holder (21) that comprises a lower die (22) cooperating with an upper insert holder (31) comprising an upper die (32). The upper die and the lower die have a die-cutting annular recess that forms a crown. Columns (34) are arranged inside the crown to restrict the side motion of lower insert holder, when the upper die is lifted from the lower die. An independent claim is included for method of die-cutting metal.
