An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the mineral wool product comprising adding the water-splitting material to the mineral wool fibers, forming a mineral wool path and heat treating. Preferred Features: A non-combustible binder such as water glass, silica sol and/or magnesia binder is added to the water-splitting material.
